Maruti Suzuki Ciaz
Description
Maruti Suzuki has introduced an updated Ciaz in India, featuring enhanced safety features and new dual-tone paint options. While the 2023 Ciaz remains largely unchanged in terms of design, the most noticeable update is the addition of dual-tone color schemes. The equipment list has also been upgraded with more standard safety features.
The dual-tone paint options are exclusive to the top-spec Ciaz Alpha trim, priced at ₹11.14 lakh for the manual and ₹12.34 lakh for the automatic (ex-showroom). This variant now comes with a contrast black roof, available in three striking color combinations: Pearl Metallic Opulent Red, Pearl Metallic Grandeur Gray, and Dignity Brown.
In terms of safety, all Ciaz variants now come equipped with ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and Hill Start Assist, in addition to standard features like dual airbags, ABS, rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX child seat anchors. Previously, ESP and Hill Start Assist were only available on automatic variants.
Commenting on the update, Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said:
“We are excited to introduce the new Ciaz with three dual-tone color options and enhanced safety features. The Ciaz has been a customer favorite and has achieved remarkable success over the past eight years. With these updates, we aim to further strengthen our position in the premium mid-size sedan segment.”
Mechanically, the Ciaz remains unchanged. It continues to be powered by a 1.5-liter petrol engine that delivers 103 bhp and 138 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox. The automatic variant offers a mileage of 20.04 kmpl, while the manual version provides 20.65 kmpl, ensuring a balance of performance and efficiency.
